About Me
“Don’t die without embracing the daring adventure your life is meant to be.”
– Steve Pavlina
Hey! I’m Emma Desrochers, an avid traveler, outdoor enthusiast, and passionate freelance journalist with a knack for storytelling. My journey began at 19 when I set out on solo adventures across seven countries, with just one trip accompanied by a partner.
At the age of 20, I plunged into the mesmerizing world of diving, adding another layer to my exploration. Among my most memorable achievements are solo hiking the John Muir Trail, conquering the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim, and trekking to the iconic Everest Base Camp.
Through my travels to eight countries, predominantly solo expeditions, I’ve honed my skills in photography and videography, capturing the essence of each destination through my lens. As a freelance journalist, I’m committed to crafting compelling narratives that resonate with readers and elevate the stories of the places I’ve visited.
Driven by a deep respect for nature, I prioritize sustainability in all my adventures, adhering to the principles of Leave No Trace. Along the way, I’ve learned to embrace confidence while remaining mindful of my limits, constantly pushing boundaries and discovering new strengths within myself.
Balancing three jobs, full-time schooling, and now thriving as a freelance writer, photographer, and artisan, I’ve self-funded my adventures every step of the way. And amidst the whirlwind of exploration, I found love in the most unexpected of places – meeting my fiancé in Thailand added an extra layer of richness to my journey.
Fuelled by an insatiable curiosity, I’m on a quest to understand the driving force behind my relentless pursuit of adventure. Through my blog, I aim to connect with fellow adventurers, sharing experiences, and inspiring others to embark on transformative journeys of self-discovery. Join me as I continue to chase my dreams and unravel the mysteries of the world, one adventure at a time.
